A Fun Thing about "A King for Kinsella"

Donna Schlachter • Dec 29, 2023

Day 2 of my pre-release party for A King for Kinsella. As you can tell, I’m excited about this book. There are a couple of reasons. First, it’s my last book for 2023. Yep, I had another planned, but decided if it happens, fine. If not, I’m fine with that, too. This has been a hectic year—well, actually a hectic four years, beginning with 2020. When the world shut down, I was concerned I’d waste my time, so I prayed and asked the Lord not to let me do that. Starting with a traditionally published book in January 2020, and coming down to the wire with this book, I’ve published 31 books in that 4 years. Wow! Plus, I just pulled a 4-book series of contemporary cozies into a single collector’s edition.

The fun thing about this specific project was that I chose a name for my hero that was open to misunderstanding. With a name like Kingston Marchmont, you can imagine that thinking he is a king isn’t a far stretch of the imagination. And that’s what happens. And while that mistake isn’t corrected until the end of the story, there’s lots going on to keep you amused and engaged.
