Today I welcome pre-published author Dee Perez as she shares her thoughts and you get the chance to know her a little better.

The other night I heard children laughing. Whenever He gives me children’s laughter, I know He wants to take me somewhere special to play and be a kid.

This is not the first time I have heard this. The first time, after I heard the laughter, he ran past me as an adult and said, "Come on!"

"Where are we going?" I said. "Come and see," he said. I took off running after him. In an instant, I was transformed into a child with a light blue dress, white socks, and black patent leather shoes. He was a boy with a blue-checkered shirt, blue jeans and sneakers. We both looked like we had stepped back in time to the 1960s, when things were innocent. Then I recognized the children that were laughing, and it was us. We began running onto a long brown pier, and then I saw him jump into a lake, and I followed suit. We began swimming, floating and splashing one another. Having fun in the water the way we did when we were kids. Except I never swam as a child. I didn't learn to swim until I became an adult.

The second time I heard laughter, I also heard carnival music. When I finally joined Him, because I was on the phone with a friend, I asked, "Abba, where are you?" A child’s voice said, "Here!" I change into a little girl, with a red dress and black patent leather shoes again. I found him waiting in line at a carnival ride. We were seated on the swing ride, and it started up. We went round and round and laughed and laughed. We went to the Tilt-a-Whirl, and then played throwing chips into dishes and he won me a stuffed lion. We had fun playing and being kids. Later, we ate cotton candy, which is my favorite. Sometimes, he just wants you to have some fun with him; this is part of the intimacy we share. A good father spends time with his children and plays with them.

2 Samuel 7:14, “I will be a father to him, and he'll be a son to me."

If you want to lead a spirit-led life, just get to know Jesus. He'll show you what a real father is like.
