God at work in us -- Book and Author Spotlight

Sandra Kathleen • Aug 07, 2022

Today I welcome back debut author Sandra Kathleen for her final of three guest blog posts about her recent release. If you missed the previous posts, please check back to July 19th and July 31st.

This marks the end of my Launch Week of Celebration and tomorrow on 8/8 I will have the book on sale for $8.88. If you haven’t gotten your copy, I suggest you take advantage of this price and get your copy.

Today I’d like to share with you the crux of the message of my new book. It comes from the Bible in the book of James 1:2-4 which says, “Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.”

I’m always amazed at how some people can stand firm under the greatest trials and even display joy while others falter with the smallest storm. I think the reality is we all have times of weakness. In my worst moments, when I have fallen in despair, God has graciously reminded me I’m not alone. He has also reassured me that just because I gave in to my fear in one trial doesn’t mean I’m going to succumb to it in another. I’m grateful that regardless of my lack of strength under pressure, God is not disappointed with me when I call out to Him for help. He is immediately beside me to lend a hand and calm the storm or pull me up back on my feet onto solid ground.

Maybe you have gone through your own major crisis and have been stretched beyond what you felt you could handle. What did it do to your faith and trust in the Lord? I thank God for those around me who have stood firm under their own trials and have provided positive examples of unwavering faith in the Lord and strength in trials. I have included some of their testimonies throughout my book. We would do well to learn from their experiences in how to face our own trials and begin to see that in all things, God is faithful. When we put our trust in Him, it doesn’t always save us from our trials, but it enables us to persevere and stand up in the storm, to even walk on water when it seems impossible.

I pray you can take time this week to ponder what the Lord has done in your life and give thanks. Make note of the areas of growth and celebration, writing them down like stones of remembrance, so you can look back and remember what the Lord has done when you are in need of a bit of encouragement. May you find hope and joy today!
