Author Spotlight Questions: Transformed Series

Tracy Wainwright • Dec 10, 2023

Tracy Wainwright joins us today as she shares about her three Transformed  books.

Getting to know Tracy:

What 2 fun or unique things can you tell us about yourself? I’m boring, lazy, and unimaginative. Just kidding! While I can be those things, those are on my down days. One interesting fact is I started college as an interior design major and planned to do my four years and get out. God had a much different plan than mine! I switched my major during my second and a half year and ended up going to four colleges, getting three degrees (A.S. in Business Administration, B.A. in Psychology, and M.Ed. in School Counseling).

Another interesting thing is that my family is blessed to live on a river, so instead of vacationing in the summers, we stay home and enjoy as many weekends as possible on our old pontoon boat (fondly named “da barge”) or ski boat (which isn’t quite as old as the barge, but much older than any of our children).

What can readers expect from you next? I am excited to have just finished writing the last book in a 9-book series owed to my publisher, Pelican Book Group. This contemporary women’s fiction has been a long time in the works. The first book was the first novel I wrote. I wrote it in 2007 and it had to go through lots of revisions before and after getting a contract on it. I’ve loved watching my character and her friends grow through the process and the books and cannot wait to see them in print, beginning in 2024!

What can readers who enjoy your book do to help make it successful? The two most helpful things readers can do is post reviews online and promote the book via word of mouth (tell all your friends!) These go a long way to help algorithms online and to help increase book sales. Also, remember books make great gifts! For teachers, children, grandchildren, friends, parents, etc.

A Peek inside...

Chapter 1
Are our thoughts that important?

Our minds are fascinating. People have been studying the brain, our thoughts, consciousness, and decision-making for centuries. Scientists, psychologists, and psychiatrists have made careers studying the mind in depth. Yet, it seems like we don’t know a whole lot more about how the mind works now than we did when modern science was in its infancy several decades ago.

We know a lot more about the brain – what areas are related to what types of thoughts and behaviors – but the mind, how we think, believe, and decide, remain largely mysteries.

To us, that is. But not to the Sovereign Creator of our intricate, complex, marvelous bodies. He not only understands us completely, He has revealed much about the mind to us in His Word.

Because of this, we can pause and examine not only different aspects of our minds and how they work, but we can also discover the keys to transforming our minds.

I’m assuming since you’re reading this book you have at least a remote interest in changing your life through changing your thoughts. This desire is major. So many people live in complete ignorance of how their thoughts affect their lives and/or don’t believe thoughts are important or that they can be changed. There isn’t an intentionality about life or paying attention to what goes into or goes on in the mind.

That’s how I was. Never thinking about my thinking. I was that kid who just kind of bounced through life – both physically and emotionally. I never stopped to check things out, evaluate them, or plan them out. I just lived, reacting in the moment to what came in the moment. I had no idea that my thoughts mattered or that I didn’t have to just take them as they came. It was much later in life I learned the truths about our minds and began to think intentionally.
